Harmon Leon: More Crappy Real Estate Video Tours

Once again, I'd like to showcase the cinematic skills of real estate video found on YouTube -- and the mad filmmaking geniuses that produce them. When done right, a real estate virtual tour captures the true essence of the home for sale. Not only that, but it also showcases the cinematic skills of the filmmaker. That's why we slate these unheralded filmmakers and their low-budget masterpieces.

Film Title: House for Sale Denver, Colorado Real Estate
Director: S1MELNICK
YouTube Views: 1,973
Film Stars: Remodeled Victorian, hickory floors, hickory cabinets, tile counter tops, claw-foot tub, stainless-steel appliances and a hell of a lot of Billy Joel music.

Our Critique: This avant-garde filmmaker has certainly had a little fun with their transitional wipes. All the wipes are represented: The circle wipe, the heart wipe, the triangle wipe -- I'm pretty sure the filmmaker went right down the list when it came to transitions. Regardless, this video has the best use of a Billy Joel song in cinematic history. (Both real estate cinema and cinema cinema.)

The closing credits are worth the price of admission alone. But, ah, hey Realty World of Denver, you forgot one necessary element: How about telling us the price of the home! Maybe they're trying to cover themselves in case it needs to be lowered? Even if you're a cynic, you have to love how this short film stops at the 1:17 mark -- and leaves us to simply enjoy the music of Billy Joel. Ah, yes, nothing by Joel heaven.
