Not all cabin types are present on every gulet. Some gulets only offer master and double. Others master, double and twin. The guest occupancy varies along with the cabins. There are private luxury gulet cruises, but also gulet cabin charters. The difference is that private gulet charters are exclusive to the whole of the group that rents the gulet and the itinerary is dependant on where the guests wish to go. Whereas gulet cabin charters are rented on a per cabin basis and the gulet is occupied by a variety of guests from different parts of the globe. The itineraries in cabin charters are preset. There is no choice in where the guests wish to go. This type of gulet rental is more affordable. Gulets are also referred to as motorsailers because they offer both engines and alternatively sails to operate.
Yacht charters in Turkey refer to both gulets (Turkish yachts) and motor yachts. For the sake of this article we will refer to yacht charters for motor yacht rentals. Unlike gulets, motor yachts are known worldwide and not really exclusive to a certain region. They too can be rented privately as well as shared.
Sailing in Turkey has been around for decades if not centuries. When mentioned, sailing is primarily for bareboat charters, such as catamarans and monohulls. However one can also think about gulets for a sailing holiday in Turkey as they too offer sailing when the winds are right. Bareboats are skippered, but with the right credentials, can be rented without a skipper too.
